This well-known photo of Gene Roddenberry is all over the internet but I wonder if anybody here knows the original source?
I’m trying to obtain a good scan of the original because I think I detect an overpainted area on the nose where there was once the Indian head insignia of the 93rd Bomb Squadron.
If I’m right, the plane is one of the seven B-17s reassigned to the 394th Squadron in Hawaii in November 1942 . . . which one is the next question.
