Does anyone have any ideas where a guy might find US Navy surplus (aircraft) sales records? I'm not even sure such a thing actually exists, but I figure it would only be logical for the USN to have kept a record of what planes were sold into the civilian market, if only for accounting reasons. I'm hoping someone might recall seeing something like while digging through the archives as Quantico, etc.

Any ideas?

Port Hueneme in California keeps all the record card for Navy vehicles (including horses!). Maybe that is a good place to start? I was able to determine the history and when a USN military truck I had was sold. PM or e-mail me if you want me to try to track down some contact info.
