Hello everyone

I was doing some reading about Operation Tidal Wave and about the famous picture of "The Sandman" coming out of the smoke during the raid. Apparently this ship survived this raid but was lost in December that year over the Alps. I found one page that mentioned the wreckage and remains of the crew was not found until 2002. I have not been able to find anything else about that fact, does anyone know the story?
