Sorry to hear about this situation. I'm sure this is a complicated story involving lots of internal and external politics. I'm sure everyone had good intensions and wanted to make this museum a big sucess.

If nothing else, it reminds me of how hard it is to operate a "solvent" transportation museum. I hate to see collections break up. Let's hope this one survives.

Pat,

I'm not familiar with this particular museum and have to admit that I've never even heard of it until now. What types of aircraft and displays do they have? Is it a large collection?

I've wanting to head down to check out the museum. I guess I better hurry!

Hmmm what am I doing Saturday?

It is very sad that LI is so close to loosing an important part of its history. I guess NY Museums are just following in NY Industry's shadow, moving out of the state.

Tim,

Perhaps when you're there you could ask about the current status of the Buffalo replica. I was of the understanding that it was eventually going to the Militair Luchtvaart Museum in the Netherlands, but (as always) I may be very wrong about that.
