Hey guys,
I'm looking for some info on a P-51D restoration out in Pittsburgh. Apparently the plane served with the Peru air force before this.
On some paper work is:
P-51D-25-NT 45-11464

No N number yet. about 90% done.

Anyone have anything? thanks in advance.

Brian:

Peru did not operate the P-51. They received a considerable number of P-47s though.

Saludos,

Tulio

11464 to RAAF as A68-804. Sold to American Aeronautics Corp Feb 23, 1953. To Bolivian AF as FAB-502. Went back to USA.

(Information borrowed unashamedly from Joe Baugher's place)

Hi all,

Growing up in the Pittsburgh area and visiting there many times since I left to persue my career in aviation. I know or rather knew of many of the restoration efforts in the area. At one time there was a Mustang being said to have been in restoration around the area. But having said that, the information about it was second hand second hand information. This is the first I have heard about this particular type of restoration back there in quite some time. Especially a Mustang.

Hopefully some one out there may know much more.

Respectfully,

Paul
