This is the place where the majority of the warbird (aircraft that have survived military service) discussions will take place. Specialized forums may be added in the new future

I am amazed that WIX was scooped on the Potez 63-11 being built in So. Texas. Have you seen this thing?? If not, you have to get yourself a copy of the new Classic Wings. It is just freakin' awesome. The most exciting project since the Hawk 75 replica built at Chino for TFC a few years ago. Don't any of you Texan's know this guy, John Garric? We need more pictures!

If a working machine, it's a good engine choice instead of finding & fixing the original ones made in unobtainium.
Found a pick here on a Frech forum.
See at the bottom.
Was not aware of all the information surrounding all the replicated Yak-3 & the the builder of the Potez.

Actually, you guys out on our western border didn't mention the Caudron 460 replica out at Flabob, nor the
Blue Max Fokker Dr.I replica barn-find either...

Not to steal the thread....but.......
Wow airnutz, the Caudron is one slick bird.
Love the racing history ( & looks ) of the plane.

Michel, very good find! Thank you. Of course, I can't read it, but the picture is great. The one in CW shows it on the ramp on its gear. Airnutz, I guess the reason this one excites me so much is that it brings back the days I used to build the Heller models of the various Potez twins. The french camo is very colorful and makes a great model, and will make a really great flyby at Midland someday, I hope. The Caudron was very well covered in Aeroplane Monthly a couple of months ago, by the way.

Yep Rob, the Potez is ambitious, but pretty durn neat! I first saw the Caudron in one of the EAA rags back in Feb., I think.

John Garrick has been around the Warbird scene for a while now. He was big in the Yak 3s and built a handful of them, if I recall.

You guys are WAY behind on the Caudron, it's currently in France. I spent some nice time chatting with the builder and the owner today at La Ferte Alais.

Mike, just read about the tour the France Ranger powered Caudron. Great news for the folks whom put in the effort in re-creating the bird.
Mind you, any time you first look at beautifull girl......it seems you're always suspended in time
In some cases being behind in the news has no impact on the appreciation
This is one of these
