Flight Down The Hudson August 22, 2019 ...

The Royal Air Force Red Arrows from the United Kingdom will join the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and F-35 Lightning II Demo Team in a historic 4 team, 24 jet flight down the Hudson River and over the Statue of Liberty on August 22,, 2019 at approximately 9:30 am.

The Hudson Flight will approach from the North side of the city over the river in a procession of four team formations. The Blue Angels will lead in 6 aircraft delta formation, followed by the Red Arrows in their signature big battle 9 aircraft wide formation. Two F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters will trail the Red Arrows followed by the Thunderbirds in their delta formation.

The Hudson Flight will fly south to New York Harbor where the formations will all make a sweeping right turn and the proceed back up the river for a second pass. They will make a pass over West Point Military Academy prior to landing back at New York Stewart International Airport.

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels and Royal Air Force Red Arrows will headline the New York International Air Show on August 24-25 that will also feature the Northeast debut of the U.S. Air Force F-35 Lightning II Demo Team.

I'd bet you're right about that.
It's not like the US/Canadian teams haven't flown together in the past...

It happened, in 1997 at Nellis AFB, for the US Air Force 50th Anniversary. The Thunderbirds, The Blue Impulse team from Japan, and several teams from South America.
The Blue Impulse had not performed in the US before and some of the routine had to be modified due to US regs, with very little practice they flew a amazing routine. The Thunderbirds had their asses handed to them on their home field

A good friend and very experienced expert on aerobatic teams holds the view that the ROKAF Black Eagles are the best team he's seen. In terms of spectacle, I'd put forward The Red Indians RCAF team of the 1970s, but I'd imagine the RAF Firebirds would have been hard to beat.

One of the Snowbirds showed up at Osh as well Phil.

North Bay Ontario 1986 hosted the Frecce Tricolori, Patrouille de France and the Snowbirds.
This also was the last ever airshow display of the CF-101 Voodoo.
Frecce Tricolori were not allowed to do the maneuver that would end up being one of the causes of their crash at Ramstein in 1988.

Last year the Thunderbirds, Snowbirds and Blues formed up over the labour day weekend. I will search for a link to a pic.

This year The Snowbirds are due in Riviere Du Loup Quebec on August 24th.
Maybe they could be persuaded to join the Hudson river parade on the 22nd.

That said, a good pal of mine works at West Point and said he'd heard the Blue Angels were flying over and heard something go overhead but was busy inside and didn't have time to go look.
