Hawker Hurricane of the 1697th Detachment (air delivery service), used to transport service mail between the UK and the troops on the bridgehead in Normandy, 1944.

We need a picture of the Hurricane delivering beer in wooden barrels to go with this.

Interesting that the cannon were not removed. I wonder if they were armed.

The motor bikey things are probably BSA M20 sidevalve singles with a sidecar or maybe Norton 16H sidevalves with sidecars, both 500cc capacities.
