Word on the 1941 HAG is that the B-17 Fuddy Duddy will be repainted and start a new life as ????. Anyone have any idea what Scheme might be in the works? Is this true?

sorry to hear that you are upset by the news that fuddy duddy might be getting repainted. on the bright side though you might want to consider the fact that along with a paint job there might be a certain amount of refurbishment to go along with iit. i flew on fuddy duddy last year and ive gotta say that it was probably one of the most exciting things that ive ever done. however, in my opinion, fuddy duddy could stand a few upgrades as far as original equipment on board is concerned. it would be nice to see a real ball turret installed as well as some guts in the upper turret. i dont know if there are projects in the works for these items or if its just gonna stay as is. any way, a new identity for the plane could be kinda cool just to see another example of of what they looked like. i like what the collins foundation has been doing with there b24. im sure whatever the new owners have up there sleeve will be impressive, so not to worry my friend!!

How about painting it like a 8TH AF formation assembly ship ?
( he says as he is ducking down behind the puter screen )

No Problem. While I'm a bit sad to see it might change, I also think that with a new coat of paint a rather ugly period in the warbird community might be able to be laid to rest. I'm VERY happy that the a/c will be flying and not sitting in a hanger in an out of the way spot in NY.

I also area that I'd love the see it restored to a bomber. I was a bit surprise when I toured it several years ago that there was next to nothing inside in regards to gunner positions. I'd love to see it in a few years decked out like the Collings or Yankee Air force B-17s. Those are Beautiful. (As are the CAFs B-17, no slight intended)

I am probably ignorant on this one but what is the current word on this bomber touring in the future?

If a repaint is in order I'd vote for any art work from the 100th BG planes.

When the National Warplane Museum left Geneseo and moved to Elmire that was some bad blood. I hear that things have setted down between the two groups but I know some folks still have strong feelings about the Aircraft and the move.
