Any info on this plane

Anybody familiar with this photo ? (from Axis history forum) Is there any info on the plane's situation ,and I suppose, eventual demise?

The markings indicate it is from the USS Benington CV20 out off the Torpedo Squadron VT 82.

If I recall right, I believe they made it back and landed next to the carrier.

Looks like the aft fuselage is flattened a bit as well.
