Yerington NV Beech SNB has moved

Mon Feb 17, 2020 11:33 pm

I saw yesterday that the Beech SNB-5 Expediter at the Yerington NV airport has moved from it's long time spot near Main St. to out on the ramp. It was in the old spot a month ago so I wonder what is going on with it. Maybe next trip out there I can stop by and ask.

Just out of curiosity....how long had it been there? Me and buddy flew to Yerington back in 2002-ish from Fallon for breakfast. I don't recall seeing it. I DO remember seeing some dude on a bike, right beside the runway taking pictures of our landing.

It was just sold at auction, may get a second life as a gate guardian:

Good find on that article DB2 as it gives the story. That is probably the end of that airframe if the new owner removes the engines. I don't ever see it ending up as a gate guardian if it is incomplete. The control surfaces have been missing for years. The buyer did pretty good getting it for $77.70 at the auction.

A bargain at twice the price! A couple plywood circles stuck in the cowls with some run-out props and Bob's yer uncle.
