According to the June issue of Air Classics there has been a mass scrapping of planes parked in Chandler,Az. With the exception of DC-7B N4889C, all of the DC-7's, a DC-6 and DC-4 N49915 have been done away with. Also at Hawkins & Powers there is a report of one of the Lockheed P-2 Neptunes being scrapped also. Sad news indeed!

The H&P P-2 that was scrpped was a non flyer I'm told. They had a pretty hard landing after the ferry flight and bent the fuselage. H&P had pulled all the parts off that they could use and then used the airframe for a engine run test stand. So it was to meet the srappers torch someday. It is still sad to here.
