Navy Wings Sea Fury VX281/(G-RNHF) force-landed near Yeovilton this afternoon.
The crew are OK.
Damage to the aircraft looks quite considerable.

From their facebook page:

"Sea Fury T.20
Navy Wings’ Sea Fury T.20 made a precautionary forced landing in a field next to RNAS Yeovilton following a problem with the engine on a routine training flight this afternoon. Both pilots are safe and well and have been taken to Yeovil district Hospital for a precautionary check-up. The cause is under investigation and both the CAA and Air Accident Investigation Branch have been informed. No further information is available at this time."

I flew in this aircraft a few times at Chino when it was owned by Dale Clarke.

The damage looks pretty hair-raising, wings and engine torn off and fuselage lying on its back. Very glad the two on board didn't come to harm.

Nope, not the airframe at all. At some point you have to admit the Centaurus engine is problematic. There is a solution.

The other Sea Fury that crashed in the UK last year did not have a Centaurus in it.

Neither did the one that crashed at Breckenridge a couple of years back, or the Cavanaugh one that crashed a few years before that.

Looks like they went through a forest before they came to a stop in the open field. The Sea Fury did a great job protecting the occupants.

Truer words were never spoken sir.
Holy $&!P.
Hard to believe that this resulted in minor injuries. Thank goodness.
Those two should invest in lottery tickets.
Nevermind, they just won!
