I was reading about a Modeler who was finishing up his Monogram 1/48 B-17G as a late version, & I noticed that he was told by several readers to " Make Sure You STAGGER the waist gun positions ". I remember reading how later G models of the B-17 had Staggered Waist gun positions as opposed to the earlier Gs, and of course all E & F models being opposite of each other.
So my Question is; How Many Current/Surviving B-17Gs Have, or Had their Waist Gun positions Staggered ? Any converted to Opposite positions ? Thanks in advance.

Taking the chin turret off is easy, no one has done the major sheet metal work to move the windows, the general public would never know the difference.

"The Movie Memphis Belle" is a G model that has been modified to incorporate the earlier non staggered "F" style waist windows, complete with opening windows and air deflectors..
