The description lists this as the estate of an RAF pilot. I'm sure veteran and enthusiast estate sales happen quite often these days, so it probably isn't noteworthy in any way other than there are photos of so many things available right at our fingertips.

I was scrolling through the photos of this gent's possessions and thought that many WIXers would enjoy looking at a fellow enthusiast's collection....and might even spy something they really want to bid on amongst all the aviation books, magazines, model kits, and other memorabilia.

I know I'd really love to go sift through all of it in person.

One of the first items you see on that site is the Japanese "Battle Flag" It was a good luck item given to soldiers going to war in japan. Signed by family and friends. They were brought back to the U.S. as a war prize. There is a non profit in Oregon that works to return them to family members back in japan. Some real tear jerking videos on YouTube about these returns.

Anyone nearby that would be willing to pick a trunkful up to ship, LOL?

Wow, most (all) of the aviation and military memorabilia went for dirt cheap, collectors grab that stuff for bigger dollars.

I would've grabbed a bunch if I could've figured out how to get it shipped.

Most of the auction companies work with local pack and ship places to ship. I got most the logs and all the RAF Pilots Notes from this estate.
