Sale of Hughes 500C Helicopters, Spares and Support Equipment

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sale of Eleven H-500C helicopters used by the Danish Army

1. The Air Materiel Command of the Royal Danish Air Force hereby announces eleven identical Hughes 500C Model 369 HM (is a newer model of the U.S. Army Hughes OH-6 Cayuse) helicopters, associated spare parts and support equipment (ground equipment, tools and mission equipment) for sale. The helicopters, spare parts and support equipment will be sold by a public tender held by the Air Materiel Command within the next few months.

2. The Hughes 500C Model 369 HM (H-500C) helicopters which are used have served the Danish Army Air Corps since the beginning of the 1970’ies. The helicopters have been used for a variety of tasks for the Army such as liaison, scouting, reconnaissance, light transport, transport of VIP and medical evacuation (they have never been armed in any way). The helicopters were delivered to the Air Materiel Command by Hughes Tool Company, USA in 1971 and 1974. The helicopters, spares and support equipment are being phased out due to general reduction of the Danish Defense.

3. The H-500C helicopters are all in very good and airworthy condition. They have undergone several modifications during the years of service. Each helicopter is equipped with following special features; wire cutter, Night Vision Goggles (NVG) compatible cockpit light, search light, Emergency Locator Transmitter, cargo hook and anti-collision light. It is prepared for GPS (antenna, wiring and mount already installed) and with flexible cabin interior options capable of fast changes between personnel transport and medical evacuation (please note that equipment for medical evacuation; litters and bubble doors are included in the package with the Support Equipment mentioned in paragraph 5. below).

For technical specifications on the eleven H-500C helicopters in general and for data on each individual helicopter please see the menu on the left hand side.

4. The helicopters are all registered under the Royal Danish Air Force Military Aircraft Register. Being the certifying aerospace authority for military aircraft in Denmark, the Royal Danish Air Force does not require and does not seek authorization for overhaul, repair and modifications from the Civil Danish Aviation Authorities. However all scheduled, unscheduled maintenance and modifications have been carried out by the Royal Danish Air Force (for the Danish Army Air Corps) in accordance with Hughes Tool Company/Boeing/MD Helicopters recommendations. The helicopters will be delivered without any registration at all (the Royal Danish Air Force military Aircraft registration will be removed).

5. As mentioned above the Air Materiel Command has a large quantity of H-500C rotable and consumable spare parts and support equipment in stock. These items will be sold in packages; A. Engine spare parts (engine spare parts only), B. General spare parts (no engine spare parts) and C. Support equipment, please see the menu on the left hand side.
6. The H-500C helicopters, spare parts and the support equipment will be delivered including the available documentation integrated with the Air Materiel Command documentation. Please note that some of the documentation is in the Danish language. All restricted military equipment and military distinctions will be removed from the helicopters, spare parts and support equipment (and the associated documentation) by the Air Materiel Command before delivery to buyer.

7. The helicopters, spare parts and support equipment shall be sold “as inspected by buyer” and “as is with all faults” at the time of delivery. Please note that all information on the H-500C helicopters, spare parts and support equipment (including data, photos, etc.) presented on these web pages are subject to verification by prospective buyer. Interested prospective buyers are therefore encouraged to carry out inspection of the helicopters, spare parts, support equipment and the available documentation at Air Base Karup, Denmark. All inspection (including thorough technical inspection as mentioned above) shall be carried out at the RDAF facility where the helicopters are located.

8. Bidders will not be allowed to be present at the bid opening, nor will they receive information on other bidders and/or their bids. The Air Materiel Command will evaluate bids on individual helicopters, individual packages of spare parts and support equipment as well as bid on the whole lot and the Air Materiel Command reserves the right to choose the economical most advantageous bid or combination of bids. The Air Materiel Command reserves the right to negotiate with any bidder and to sell to any customer of Air Materiel Command choice.

9. The suggested price range per H-500C helicopter is between Danish Kroner (DKK) 1.4 - 1.9 Mio. (equivalent to approximately U.S. Dollars (USD) 0.2 - 0.3 Mio. (exchange rate 2006-03-31 = DKK 616.52)). The suggested price range indicated above is not to be considered as a minimum or maximum price as the final sales price may be higher or lower depending on the competition in the market at the time of sale.

The estimated value (measured in price for factory new items at the time of purchase which has taken place over a very long time period) of the spare parts are as follows; Package A, DKK 1.2 Mio. (equivalent to approximately USD 0.2 Mio.), Package B, DKK 28.3 Mio. (equivalent to approximately USD 4.6 Mio.) and Package C, DKK 100,000 - 200,000 (equivalent to approximately USD 15,000 - 30,000). There is no suggested price for Packages A, B and C, the estimated value is only indicated in order to illustrate the size of the packages.

Please note that the helicopters, spare parts and support equipment are subject to “prior sale” and the Air Materiel Command reserve the right to terminate the tender.

10. Please note that the sale is subject to the Air Materiel Command obtaining the necessary export licenses for sale to buyer.

11. The following terms and conditions are applicable for the sale of the H-500C helicopters, spare parts and support equipment mentioned above and shall be accepted before participation in the tender, please see the terms and conditions for sale in the menu on the left hand side.

12. It is necessary to pre-qualify in order to participate in the tender for the helicopters, spare parts and support equipment. Please contact the Air Materiel Command in order to obtain more information on the pre-qualification process and to apply for participation in the tender. Only prospect buyers, who accepts all of above mentioned paragraphs (hereunder the terms and conditions for sale mentioned in paragraph 11) and are considered to be eligible for export approval will be considered for participation in the tender. Only prospect buyers who are accepted by the Air Materiel Command will be invited to inspect the helicopters and to participate in the tender.

13. If you are interested in participating in the tender or if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Project Manager Sales, Mr. Jesper B. Nielsen by e-mail: j.b.nielsen@airmat.dk, phone: +45 44 78 26 10 or fax: +45 44 89 72 77.
