Selfridge Military Air Museum Projects

Sun May 01, 2022 5:39 pm

The Selfridge Military Air Museum has a few interesting projects going on at the moment. One is the cosmetic restoration of an FG-1D, BuNo 92085:

The other is the relocation of the airport perimeter road and construction of a small bridge to allow public access without having to enter the base:

Not featured on their YouTube channel, but also in progress is the construction of an aviation education center.

Glad they are adding public access. There are quite a few collections that are behind base gates, and generally off limits, or a least a big hassle, to the casual public. A few like Dover managed to build an an access road to allow public visitors without having to get an access pass. I know Travis was considering moving the displays closer to the front gate.

I spied a TF-102- I have a soft spot for the Tub.

Nice collection.
