F-86 at the Flying Cloud Airport in Eden Prairie Minnesota.

Just took this one like 5 minutes ago, it is located about 1/2 mile from where I work.

Thought I would share.

It's a Beech 18 conversion..I forget which one though.

Somebody get a roof over that F-86! Thanks Paul!

The F-86 is suppose to be a pole sitter in Farmington Minnesota, until the funds are raised, I guess they decided to let the Wings of the North have it on display there.

The Beech is a E-18 Super or E-18S.

From what I heard, this bird was planned for a memorial in Lakeville, MN where it would be displayed under a roofed structure, but open at the sides. Perhaps plans have changed a little since last year, however.

It's a completely original airframe. I was told it has it's original engine and everything inside. It even had it's original batteries in it and the pilot's parachute was sitting in the cockpit!

I think the paint on the outside is new, however...added sometime in the last couple of years.

There was a website for this plane...I'll see if I can dig it up.

It was donated to the city of Lakeville by a private owner (it was on the Courtesy Website at one time) sometime last year.

It's hard to believe, that in this day and age consideration would be made to
display this bird outside. Somebody needs to approach the city about purchasing 53-1250
and making a flying tribute to the veterans with this Sabre.

Ah, guess I should have read your other post concerning this aircraft! There sure seems to be a lot of outfits out there that tried very hard to make the otherwise beautiful twin-Beech very unattractive. This one has to be near the top of the ugly list!

Here are a few pics from when it was moved to FCM. I’m not a member of WOTN; I just helped out on this project, so I don’t have any details as to the status of the aircraft.

It’s an H model, and in excellent shape.

Donuts!

I think there was a newspaper story about the move, but I don't know which one. I almost ran over the photographer when he kneeled down if front of the chase vehicle I was driving.

This was odd; we drove by some kids playing baseball and none of them gave us a second look. I guess Ritalin really, really works.

No harm done to the Huebners driveway fence!
