Saturday morning had light rain and low visibility. More rain after noon then a torrential downpour.
But the sun finally broke through and flying got a late start. A really good lineup of aircraft on hand.

Lovely photos: thanks for posting. I do wish they'd finish painting Doc: she doesn't look right without the wing bands.

Wow, thanks for posting! Any full pictures of the Balck Widow? Have the outer wings been attached?

Great shots, Bill! And it was good to see you at Sun N Fun back in April! It's been too long!

Anyone else notice that "Doc" is operating without its nose gear doors? Just wondering what the rationale might be behind that (not meaning it in a critical way, just curious).

They removed the nose gear doors just before they started the aircraft's busy tour/airshow schedule, back around late April/early May. They stated on their Facebook page that the reason they removed them was so that they could repair the nose gear locking mechanism. I suppose they won't refit the nose gear doors until they have the aircraft back in Wichita for an ample amount of time - possibly when it returns in late June, before heading back out on the road again in mid July?

Thank you, Bill, for sharing your excellent photos from WWII Weekend!

Thanks, John! I was wondering if it was maintenance or performance related. At any rate, the new markings look great!
