Hello,
Had a great day yesterday and I want to share some of it with you guys. I was at Wings Over Holland, Lelystad Airport yesterday and they have in their hangar the 'Early Birds' Foundation P-51D. Next to the hangar of Early Birds is the Aero Service B.V. hangar, home of an airworthy P-51D.
Today I went over to the Military Aviation Museum to photograph the other P-51K.
There was also a PBY-5A doing round trips.

The prop is a H model prop, but it was crated for shipment to the US for overhaul. I heared that this will be made a TF-51D.

Talking to them during the DC3 fly-in they said that they're thinking of painting the P-51 as "The Traveller" a Dutch P-51. I haven't been able to find out much about this plane, but hopefully they will make their final decision soon and post it on their website.

Hello Mennie,

Thanks for posting the pics!

I was curious to see how Early Birds Mustang was coming along. I was the last person to fly that airplane before it was disassembled many years ago. (It's a P-51H prop)

I wish I could have that museum airframe 8) . It's the most original of these 3 I think. Still military style. I asked the security guy if the cockpit could be opened but he couldn't.
"darn Yankee" is all fluffy on the inside and an extra seat. Gun bays are still in the wings without the guns. Interior is not Cavalier but is changed to civil.
