Nice shots, Tim! I especially like the dusk ones. Did you, or anyone else who was there, for that matter, see a little Taylorcraft L-2 there, by chance? A friend of mine flew his out to Genesio from just out side of Bangor. This is one of his photos.

Well Im trying to go!!! Its not looking good. Its really tough to get vacation time with me in the position I work.
My father will be there with some of the Lone Star aircraft. If I do make it, I will arrive late in the afternoon on Saturday. But I will be there the whole day on Sunday. Soon as I find out I will send you a msge. Im keeping my fingers crossed about me going and some of the aircraft going!

I'm still puzzled why the CWH's Lancaster didn't show up as avertised

I heard stories that the pilot's weren't comfortable with a grass landing strip

If that was they case a flyby would have been better than nothing, heck CYHM is only an hour and a bit (maybe less) to D52.

Anyone know what happened?

Did anyone happen to note the c/r of the Aeronca with the markings "NG 9814" on the tail?
A second Yak, overall blue, showed up on Saturday but I didn't get a chance to get up close to it. Did anyone note the c/r?
What about the Texan in the hanger with the camoflage paint scheme?
There were two Seabees there. One was N6386K, what was the other one?

I too wondered why, even if the Lanc's current pilot is not confident landing on turf, the Lanc didn't just fly over instead. The Tallichet (at the time) B-24 Liberator did precisely that one year in the late 80s, operating out of either Danville or Rochester (I forget which). Maybe that idea simply didn't occur to anyone.

The camo "Texan" in the hangar at Gennie will have been Austin Wadsworth's Harvard Mk.II, which is being restored in the markings of an Aussie squadron's unit "hack" in North Africa. Not sure of its ID though...

Steve is correct as to the owner. It is Harvard II N9435H ex RCAF 2668.

Interesting. CWH's Lanc has been to Geneseo several times before. I remember the first time I saw it there it appeared to nearly hit a tree on landing. It flew so low over a tree that it's wake caused a huge branch to tear off. I have it on video. This would have been 1989 or 1990 I think. Tallichet's B-24 did eventually come too.

I still haven't managed to go through all of my Geneseo pictures. But really, the weather has been fantastic, and I haven't been spending much time inside editting photos. I did however, create my desktop calendar for August using one of my Geneseo shots...
