Anyone know anything about a recent Ameritade commercial that has a Mustang in it? Which airframe? Who does it belong to? Who is the guy in the commericial, actor? Pilot?

Looks like the same Mustang seen at the Corsair Gathering in Indiana (it was based there). Don't recall the owner's name though.

Would that be Tom Wood's Mustang? I think Tulio had some pics of it here some time back.

Hi!

I had not visited this thread until just now.

Since I have yet to see that T.V. Ad, I thought that it would be easier to include the pictures of the four F-51s that I saw at Mt. Comfort, IN back in 2002 during the Gathering of Corsairs:

The first (bare metal) one is the one I was thinking of. Looks like a dead match IMO.

Bump to this thread...

I just saw this ad for the first time today.

The tail number that is painted on on the airplane in the commercial is "472727", so that would make it 45-11558/N514DK.

FWIW, this airframe is an ex-Cavalier 750, originally modified in 1962. Later, it became well known as "The Healer". Rumor has it on the Air Racing boards that The Healer will be back at Reno 2006 with Bill Reinschild flying.
