I will be in St. Louis next week visiting friends and family. I hope to get to the Creve Couer airport somtime. Any advice as to the best time to visit in August. Of course I can find the Museum's hours, but I'd like to phtograph some of the private birds if possible. As a native of St. Louis, it pained me to have Tulio and others uncover this spot  , but I'm not too proud to enjoy it anyway!

Jeff,
As far as the best days of the week, like most small airports, Saturday and Sunday are the best. If I had to pick one day, I guess it would be Sunday. The DH-4M2 should be on it's gear soon, the best day to see it would probably be a Saturday. Send me a PM and I'll give you some contact information. If you are in town on a day that my wife has given me an "airport pass", I'll try to show you some of the stuff that does not get out very often (like me I guess).

Al

Good to see you are still about, we met last year when I arrived in the back of a Sea Fury for Eric's party. I hope things are ok with you, I hope to be back this year.

Jeff

CC is my second favourite airfield on the planet (after Old Warden), the musum is superb and Al is a great guy. Enjoy your trip.

Jeff,
Thanks for the kind words. I guess I do tend to take the place for granted. My father and John Cournoyer have helped creat a pretty cool little airport and I hope to continue it into the next generation. One of things that makes any airport special is the folks that hang out there and CC has some of the best.
