Hello Group,

Scott here from the Invader "SPIRIT of NORTH CAROLINA" (N6840D, 44-35911). Have hit a tough nut to crack and looking to the group as a resource. Back in 1967 (in one of her prior lifetimes) the aircraft had a landing accident at Will Rogers Airport in Oklahoma City, OK on Dec. 8th.
Are there any older WIX members who may know of a photo of such? I have contacted the local paper in O/C without any results. Seems to me something like an accident should have generated photos; just have to find the owner(s).
We have a few scans of her in her prior guises, but any additional shots or info will be appreciated and incorporated into the photo book we display at airshows. She was 61 this past June and we love telling her tale....

Glad to be a member :)
Scott

Welcome Scott. With all the resources we have here I'm sure if there's some pics or info out there, one of these Wixer's will come up with it. Good luck. :)
Robbie

Hi Robbie,

Thanks for the reply and info. We picked up on that abbreviated report quite a while back and that's one of the things that has spurred our curiosity. Unfortunately the full records have already been destroyed and the "snippet" version is all that apparently remains.
Have come to have great confidence in the warbird-ers out there so we feel sure that it's just a matter of time. Unfortunately, she (and the rest of us) just aren't getting any younger.......

Best to all,
Scott
