Vintage Wings of Canada will be practicing formation flying with the Canadian Warplane Heritage Lancaster on Saturday September 16th in preparation for the Battle of Britain commemoration ceremonies at the Canada Aviation Museum...

Staff at Vintage Wings have anticipated public interest to view these practice flights which will be based out of the Gatineau airport. To that point Vintage Wings will make the grass area adjacent to the ramp available to the public for viewing the activities. Access will be limited to this area and Vintage Wings asks that visitors to the area respect the barriers that will be in place. This is not an air show, and there is no schedule for operations. This is not a formal Fly Day either, so there will be no access to the Vintage Wings facilities including the hanger and no tours will be given.
The weather forecast looks good, so feel free to come out and enjoy some time at Vintage Wings. The gates of VWoC will open by 3 PM and close some time after the flying is over around 4 PM. We hope you enjoy your time with us. All that we ask is that you read the following guidelines and tips to help ensure you safely enjoy your visit.
Regards,
Mike Henniger

• VWoC wants you to enjoy yourself during your visit, but in the interest of safety we ask that you pay attention to our staff and volunteers and respect the barriers that will be in place. Safety comes first!
• Please note this is not an air show. We are simply letting you know this is a day when flying by VWoC and friends is likely to take place so you can come out to view the activity if you would like. If there is poor weather, mechanical problems or any other difficulty that would make flying unsafe, there will bill no flying. Safety comes first!
• Washrooms will be available at the Gatineau Airport Terminal building.
• Picnic tables will be provided on a grassy area adjacent to the active ramp inside the perimeter fence. We do not have an estimate for expected attendance so you may wish to bring a lawn chair.
• Attendees are requested to make use of the garbage bins provided if you should have any refuse needing disposal. Loose debris on the ramp can cause damage to the aircraft and put crews at risk.
• Don’t forget your sunscreen!
