With the recent news about the remake of the Dambusters movie ~ I thought you might like to see Avro Lancaster "Just Jane" RAF Serial NX611 ~
being put through her paces at East Kirkby on Saturday.

Although this aircraft has no permit to fly ~ she has four fully functioning Rolls Royce Merlins and offers "Taxi Ride" experiences to help with her upkeep.

September 16th was the very first time the public has been able to see her take to the grass runway and power up enough to get her tail off
the ground.

With the wealth of experience on hand from former members of the Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Flight ( and airworthy Lancaster ~ PA474 )
Just Jane is in very safe hands !

I bet it was awful tempting to pull back on the yoke once the tail was airborne.

There has been talk at great length over on key in the past about 611. Supposedly there is some corrosiong issues on the spars? Also everything will have to be redone to airworthy condition if she is to return to the air.

And this is the second time that a fast tail raising taxi run have been performed by NX611...I think the last time it was on the old runway correct?

Ain't she just great :D

Must have been really tempting! If you watch closely on that GIF, you can see her lift a tiny bit albeit with the wheels still on the grass.
