Check out the "teaser" trailer for the Thunder Over Reno movie that features film shot at the races and Pylon Racing School this year.

Great flying scenes...looks to me to be mediocre acting/story/script.

Yep, it's probably a typically cheesy storyline with "B" grade acting by no-name performers, but we all know there are two reasons why we're all going to watch the film anyway: fast airplanes and hot chicks! 8)

Cheers!

I have no doubt that this will be one of the dumbest aviation movies ever made by anybody, anywhere! However I'd be happy to be proven wrong. Anything that brings more attention to air racing is a good thing.

On Sunday at Reno, Bud Granley and I spent some time taking pictures of Natasha Yi. We had been drinking rum over at the Czech Mate pits courtesy of John Morgan so we were feeling pretty good and did a nice impression of your average paparazzi folks. I found out later that Natasha has appeared in Playboy.

What, do they not have pilots that hot in the C-17?? Women like her are a dime a dozen in the fighter community. :)

What is surprising and disappointing is that the movie was written and directed by folks in the aviation community. From things I've seen, it looks like it will be terribly unrealistic from the flying standpoint. You'd think that if anyone could make something that appealed to the aviation nut crowd, they'd be the ones to do it.

Like you, Brad, I hope to be proven wrong. I fear, though, it's going to be pretty weak.

At the risk of sounding like an old married guy (20 years) and airplane geek...Look at that blade tip! Wow thats really squared off...I am confused, I read where September Fury's blades were rounded off at the tip to make speed...is this a counter rotating prop thing or is it a two ways to skin a cat thing?

I know I know ...what airplane?

The girl or the plane....the girl or the plane....hmmmm. I wonder which one is more expensive? :D

Brad, instead of playing paparazzi, you should of had her over at the Czech Mate pits drinking rum! (Actually, I'm glad you took the pics instead!)

Unfortunately, the acting in this movie looks like it will be cringe-worthy. B grade at best. I wonder if they will consider releasing a special directors edit of the film...one that only contains footage of planes flying.
