I need the unit assignment history of B-52D 55-0083, especially during the latter half of the 1950s and first half of the 1960s. Specifically, was 55-0083 assigned to a unit at Loring AFB in Maine during this time period?

I do know that this aircraft and its tail gunner were credited with shooting down a Mig-21 on 24 Dec. 1972 over North Vietnam during a Linebacker II mission. It is currently on display at the USAF Academy in Colorado Springs, CO.

Thanks in advance for any assistance that you may be able to provide.

Todd
