Hi all

further to Jack Cook's continuous postings containing amazing photographs from his collection, I decided to act likewise and will open my treasure trove, too (as time permits).

For over 25 years I have been collecting thousands of photographs, slides, negs, etc. on military aviation - main focus always has been WW2 & Korea, plus warbirds and early airliner-types.

The slides cover the period 1940's to today - the negs & photos go back into the 20's.

Whilst I am in process of scanning all that material anyhow (it will take me months to accomplish this !!!) - I would like to get some hints and ideas of what you guys desperately want to see posted here soonest......

All comments are greatly appreciated.
Cordially
Martin

NB: @ Scott: all warbirds photos posted can be used for the registry.

Anything but Mustangs. Not really but there were other airplanes in the war. Its' not like the axis powers and all allies were flying mustangs.

Hmm, between you and Jack, I think WWII is pretty much covered (though I have a private stash of unpublished 4th and 78th FG stuff that I need to show every now and then as well).

I'd like to vote for your favorite and mine:

8th Air Force Fighters and Bombers!,

with a secondary preference of

Pacific and CBI fighters and medium bombers.

Throw some Corsairs and Hellcats in there as well.

And don't forget some Spits and Hurri's.

Um, how about some Thuds doing good work up north?

Misty FAC F-100Fs?

Gunfighter F-4Es?

That ought to do it for today's preferences ...

Wade

Sounds good Martin. Looking forward to it.

My preference would be early post-war shots ('40s to '70s) of civilianised P-51s and (especially) P-38s.

Hope to see you at Rickenbacker next September.

Regards

Mike

And of course if you've got some other pics from the Swiss air force during the 40s and the 50s, I am sure It would be great !

Many thanks for what you do for us.

I want to see a photo of a current Mustang restoration without invasion stripes!

For how long were invasion stripes maintained after D-Day?

Any and all would be groovy, but I'm especially interested in the vintage WWII stuff... a P-40 shot or three would be nice in addition to any Mustangs.

Thanks for offering to share...
