Hello all.

Near the Great Patriotic War Museum in Park Pobedy (Victory Park) in Moscow there's a bunch of WW II aircraft on outside display. I've read somewhere that most of these aircraft are supposedly replicas, which I find hard to believe in some cases, and I'd like to know.

Does anyone have information on these aircraft?

The following was present in April 2005.

Ilyushin Il-4. New addition, believed genuine.

Yakovlev Yak-3 '7'.

Sukhoi Su-2 '27'.

Bell P-63C Kingcobra 44-4011 '08'.

Ilyushin Il-2 (single-seat) '21'.

Lisunov Li-2 (turreted) '17'.

Messerschmitt Bf 109F-4. Understood to be fake.

Polikarpov Po-2 '4'.

Polikarpov I-15bis '14'.

Polikarpov I-16 '91'. Landing gear, engine don't look too good.

Kochyerigin DI-6 '3'. Landing gear doesn't look good, but why would you build a replica Kochyerigin DI-6?

Lavochkin LaGG-3 '24'.

Lavochkin La-5 '15'.

Again, does anyone have information on these aircraft?

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter

I visited in 1996 and have since become friends with the guys who either built or restored the vintage aircraft on display.see below for my comments

Is this the park where the B-29 lookalike the Russian TU-4 is displayed?

No it isn't, I don't think any are displayed in Russia, only in China

By the way, does anybody know what the things are for that are lying under the fuselages of some of the Moscow aircraft, such as the the Li-2, Su-2, P-63 :?:

Whats with the jack stands? Is it to keep the tires from getting flat-spoted or just to keep you from knowing the tires have gone flat?

I'm not a curator, but, aren't static display a/c often put on "jacks" to take the a/c weight off the tires/wheels?
