Warbird Information Exchange

Hello all.

Near the Great Patriotic War Museum in Park Pobedy (Victory Park) in Moscow there's a bunch of WW II aircraft on outside display. I've read somewhere that most of these aircraft are supposedly replicas, which I find hard to believe in some cases, and I'd like to know.

Does anyone have information on these aircraft?

Is this the park where the B-29 lookalike the Russian TU-4 is displayed?

No it isn't, I don't think any are displayed in Russia, only in China

There is a TU-4 at Monino.

By the way, does anybody know what the things are for that are lying under the fuselages of some of the Moscow aircraft, such as the the Li-2, Su-2, P-63

Whats with the jack stands? Is it to keep the tires from getting flat-spoted or just to keep you from knowing the tires have gone flat?

I'm not a curator, but, aren't static display a/c often put on "jacks" to take the a/c weight off the tires/wheels?
