P-40N s/n P-11151 #I3/663 flown by Capt Fu a 6 kill ace of the CACW collided with an American flown P-51 Mustang in 1944.

Collision on landing. The Mustang pilot was evaced back to the states.

never have seen a pic of a u.s. p-40 with the loop in that area of the war. was that a chinese issue accessory??

Somewhere I have this same photo...

I wish I had an original of this shot too, cuz this image is pretty poor. But it shows that #13 came to rest on top of another P-40...

It looks a lot more faded in Jack's photo. Must have been cast aside after the crash?

My guess is that it was either manhandled by a buncha dirty, grimy hands or perhaps the paint was worn off somehow. I kinda go for the former...
