A-25 Project and American Wings

On Friday I took a trip out to Anoka to visit the A-25 project and the American Wings museum. The A-25 is really going to look great next to the A-24.

New at American Wings was a Morane Saulnier MS-733 with a Ranger V-770, I'd never heard of this interesting little trainer before. Also at American Wings, the F-5, which was in pieces back in May, is now assembled and on its gear.

Thanks goes out to Helldivers for letting me look around the shop again.

Interesting shot of the F-5 with the Swiss wings. There is one here in Ft. Worth in the same condition. As I understand it the the US wings are low time parts compared to the Swiss wings so they are making a swap on the museum birds.

I forgot to mention the organization with the F-5 :oops:

They are the OV-10 Bronco Association

BTW they need help with funding to secure the longest serving F-14 for thier airpark.

Nice photos. I painted the L-39 last spring and have done some work on the MS-733. The Ranger V12 sounds great. Don Larson is the owner. His N3N is almost done with a recover and paint job.
He has located and rebuilt an original float and may install it.

After the strike at NWA I have been looking for a new career. The outlook for purchasing a hangar and opening a paint and restoration shop in Princeton looks good. We plan to move the F3A-1 into the hangar and start work soon. Also we have a Corsair project in the area that has remained below the radar, and will be moving it's centersection in. The owner prefers to remain unnamed at this time and the plane is not registered. It is not a crash recovery. (Just in case the NHC wanted to know!)

The MS-733 was previously owned by a Gentleman in Texas. I was told it was trucked up from Texas and reassembled at Princeton.

Lex, the L-39 looks excellent, best of luck with the paint/restoration shop. It never ceases to amaze me the treasures that are hiding around Minnesota. At Oshkosh this summer I finally saw one of the Corsairs that John Roxbury used to have up there.

The N3N doesn't look much different than last time, as the wings and float are being worked on off-site. I'll sure miss having it around if it ends up on the floats.

what's with the blue corsair 2 seater??? i had 3 mk 88 practice bombs in my garage for years, simular to the ones on the mohawk, till the wife told me to get rid of them :cry:

Here here - whats up with that TA-7?? With that Corsair II in Arizona for sale I am all fired up about one of my old favorites. I am sure that it needs a nice semi heated hangar and a lot of volunteer love!

My reccollection is that one day a number of years ago, the TA-7 was towed over from the Navy base at Minneapolis/St. Paul Intl to the Minnesota Air National Guard Museum, and they were told they could have it. The TA-7 doesn't really fit the Air Guard Museum's mission, so they passed it on to American Wings.

Hey - that sounds good to me - thats why a TA-7 is so perfect - TWO SEATS! I wonder, if the Navy just hauled it over to the Air Guard, and then the Air Guard just gave it to American Wings, technically this is still belongs to the Navy?
