Ollie,

The "modern looking pit" was a Texan II. The aircraft only had 7 hours on the airframe, and had come out of the factory the weekend before Midland.

Is the HISPANO HA-1112 BUCHON in the last photo the same one that is for sale at Courtesy Aircraft?
