I paid a visit to Travis AFB's museum today (I'll post some photos in a few days, for those interested).

Whilst there, I noticed posters advertising a symposium next Sunday, organised by the Northern California Friends of the Aces. Incidentally, they also organised an excellent 8th AF Aces symposium at Duxford in 2003 which I attended, sadly the poor attendance (although not surprising at £100, about $190, per ticket) precluded them having another in the UK.

They are advertising that 5 P-38 aces, including Darrell Welch, are anticipated to attend. Panel discussion in the afternoon, followed by a signing session.

$30 per tichet ($25 to members of 'NorCal Friends of the Aces'), starting at 1.15pm.

Bump, for anyone interested who missed it the first time.

Otherwise, it looks as though I'll be the only WIXer attending?
