I was viewing some of the construction photos of this new Marine Corps Museum at www.usmcmuseum.org/news_PhotoGallery.asp From what I see they will have 2 Corsairs (one has the number 86 on the leftside of the fuselage and the other has the number 369 on the engine cowling), a Curtiss Jenny, an Avenger, an AV-8 Harrier and a Sikorsky HRS-1 helicopter. Anyone know which Corsairs these are? It seems the museum wont have anywhere near the amount of aircraft on display that were in air museum they had in Quantico. Did most of the other aircraft get loaned out? I know of several that ended up with other museums but it seems there were quite a few others.

It's a shame what was done to this FG-1. When I saw it last a few years ago it looked like there was quite a bit of original paint on it that was oversprayed to get a Pappy B look a like. I believe it also has the early style wings with fuel tanks in them and so they decided to bolt on rocket launchers. Argh!!!!

Regards,
Mike
