Point well taken on RAF over Berlin years earlier but can't recall them doing it when the sun was up?

...and they did such a bang up job that the USAAF had to sacrifice 10's of thousands of lives through DAYLIGHT bombing for 3 years. HUH? Don't get upset, just focusing on the truth

As I recall there were great sacrifices by the USAAF Strategic Airforces in the ETO but it seemed that the RAF lost more KIA, POW at night than the USAAF lost in the day - and were not as effective - at least not according to Goering, Speer and the Strategic Bombing Survey.

And, as I further recall, the USAAF dropped more tonnage than the RAF by the end of the war and had a lower loss per sortie overall? Strictly memory because I'm too lazy to go find out...


At any rate, nobody in his right mind denigrates the sacrifices made by ALL of them - just different doctrines by their respective leaders...

Would you argue Bomber Harris was right and Tooey Spaatz was wrong? Just curious..

Nothing personal, but that is probably one of the dumbest, most ignorant statements I have seen posted. In other words, had they done a "bang up job", the Air Force would have skated home free.

Where do you get the gall to make a stement such as that?

Warbirdfinder - I DID have to bite my tongue when I saw the remarks by OriginalBoxcar - but figured I misunderstood what he was trying to say.

Net - Net - both the RAF and USAAF had one hell of a war - each losing more KIA than USMC in WWII.

My hat and heart goes out to all of them
