My Grandfather, Blaine Morris, did these while he worked in the Vought Promotional department during the war....I got my hands on these three pristine pieces recently.....they can be found elsewhere online, but I don't know if they've been presented here before....

Hope you folks like them....I gotta find some suitable frames for them!!

Mark;
No wonder you have such a connection to the Corsair!
Your grandfather did them! How cool is that!

I have four or five of them and two, including the first one you posted, were signed by the late Boone Guyton, Chance Vought Test pilot and author.
Thanks for posting them and the info.
Jerry

Did he do color ones as well? I have some color versions that the artwork looks very similar that I got from my Dad when he worked in Flight Test at Vought.

That's very cool Mark. 8) I've had copies of those images for some time. Mine came from old magazine clippings from the 1940's (thanks Randy!). It takes on a whole new meaning knowing your grandfather created these. I know I've got at least three other works from him as well!

Connery-

He DID do some in color, I don't have any of them but a friend of mine sent me a link to e-Bay one day for a newspaper type ad that was by my grandfather that was in full color...had i the money at the time I would've gone after it (it was $60) and showed a bunch of mechanics running out of the jungle onto a coral airstrip towards a Corsair....

By all means, if any of you folks happen across any of my Grandfather's artwork that I may not have seen yet, like that full color ad, let me know on here or by a private message, I'd love to at least get copies of the stuff into my collection of his artwork!

Mark
