Guys asked about my Spitfire. It's flying again. Back in June I made a normal landing in good weather(4 knot X-wind), then the tail kicked sideways. I was caught off guard, but corrected once, the 2nd time full rudder and brake were not enough and went off the left side into the grass, luckily stopping before hitting anything. Fault seems to be collasp of the tail strut. I flew it carefully to the shop for the lifetime guarantee. That's where it takes about half a lifetime to get parts, and the other half to pay for them. Ray and Tim removed both main gear, cheked for cracks, stress, corrosion and o.h. both. On Tue.31 I flew out of DT FT. Collins for a 20 min flight. I felt a little rusty, but rolls were good and landing ok.I've had 2 more flights and plan to leave in AM for Nellis AFB in Las Vegas.I Thanks for the interest.

Great to hear, Bill. Also liked your "lifetime" guarantee bit.

Mudge the amused

Great news Bill, glad you're up and flying again. Hope to see you at Nellis on Saturday.

Bill glad to hear you are back in the air. Just remember to keep the number of takeoffs & landings equal.
