I arrived about dusk Thur. at the same time as Capt Eddie in FireFly an Steve Hinton in Glacier Girl P-38, which as WIX reported has been sold. we had some weather delays due to high winds, 32k at Vegas and IFR fog in CA. Some spectacular and hostile scenery on the way out. We did a briefing last night which I was too tired to absorb well. Then they did it again at 6:30am!, reminding me of what I didn't like when I was in AF. WE flew a practice this Am. Firefly, Fury(Getch) and me. Weather was good, a little windy, and we circled over a race track with cars going around. It was a liittle bumpy in formation, I once went straight when I was supposed to do a solo act, but made a good landing finally. Corsair blew a hydrdauic seal on the ground, no accidents. 4 F-16 s arived with only 5 min fuel left but landed ok. Lot's of WWII planes here, lot's of modern jets, and lot's of noise. ONly 20 min. per time on computer so more later.

It's 7:30 a m and these guys have already finished the briefing. They must not enjoy that last hour of sleep as much as I do. Here's something different from other shows; they are planning on having a Predator unmanned drone do a flyby in the show. They say the enginge sounds like a chain saw. Weather is a little cold and overcast, withe some wind.

Whose Corsair is at Nellis this weekend? They show picture of Jim Read's on the air show's website but I don't think he would travel all the way out to Las Vegas from Indiana. Unless Snodgrass is doing a legacy flight.

Should be one of Provenance's. I'm headed up there tonight hoping it cheers up my broken heart.

Don't know which Corsair; it was navy blue and oily. Will update Sun. I flew two flights; and did it right today, but did not make as good landing. Did a brief solo act, enough for 1 tight 360. While we are holding 3 miles north we can look down and see a motorcycle road race. 2nd flight was 3 groups of 4 warbirds and 3 circuits; with a different formation in each flight each circuit. All down safely so far. Cool and a little windy. Short and very intense flight .

Uh huh.....like 'it was black and yellow' when describing a particular bee or New York taxi...

Anyone else got a guess?

Sounds like Chuck Wentworth in the Corsair.

I did not recognize the Corsair guys, maybe CA CAF; not Jim Read. Glacier Girl is here, pretty neat, not as big as you might think. Steve Hinton has been really busy with the F-86 and all the other pollution machines. Not much peace and quite around here. The Raptor is a lot bigger than even the F-15. The Predator did not show up for it's low pass. More Sun pm if I can.

Just got back home from a grey and chilly day at Nellis.

It was the other Provenance Corsair there, the ex-Gary Kohs one, parked in a line with their TF-51 'Tempus Fugit' and 'Glacier Girl'.

Nice to see your Spitfire there Bill, hopefully I'll post some photos in a few days.

Great warbird turnout at Nellis, as well as the Provenance stuff there was a B-25, CAF F6F and F8F, P-38, Getch in the Fury, Firefly, Skyraider (Anders', plus his P-51 in the heritahe flight), Spitfire, Hinton (again!) in the F-86 flying with a MiG-15, and Bill Reesman's MiG-17 . Static, lots of warbird trainers, and 2 HU-16s.

The F-22 was great to see in the air, but the Osprey broke, and the Predator didn't fly.

Hopefully better weather for everyone tomorrow - at least that's what the forecast promises.
