Does Doc Hisey have a P-63? (I didn't know that!)

That looks like the A-26 that used to live in North Las Vegas (VGT) back in the late 80's early 90's. Does anyone know if that is the same airplane?

The A-26 Lady Liberty is the former Vegas Vixen, now moved to OK still belonging to the CAF.
Vlado, from what I understand the P-63 pictured is one owned by the CAF, that has been on display at a small museum that Doc Hisey has been putting together. I know in the past he has helped some caf projects out, so I wonder if this might be more of the same.

Something wrong with that P-63 photo. It looks just like a photo i remember of the one at the USAF Museum. I think it's been repainted now, but it was a "pinball" Cobra with no intake above the engine, just like the one in the photo.

That's just wierd. The guy on that Chevelle site went to the trouble of downloading that pic and saving it in his webshots album to make it appear, I would assume, to be his own.

Two more Kingcobra related questions. One, why is the ex-Frank Borman machine listed twice in the registry with two different serials? Second, the registry lists Kermit Week's bird as airworthy which I'm pretty sure is a mistake. Anyone know for sure?

Because the P-63 is also listed twice on the FAA registry. The serial # must have been changed by the owner for some reason at one stage. Will ask a friend who were with Square 1 at the time.

I also asked the same friend about Weeks P-63, and he told me Nichols sold that to Weeks around the same time the F8F left. Another guy who also worked at Square 1 had earlier been with Yanks, and when I asked about the so-called airworthiness of Nichols fighters, he said none of those restored in-house were flyable without a lot of extra work.
