Mid 50's era jet tire and wheel

Fri Feb 25, 2005 6:02 pm

Not sure what I have as far as what it fits.

It does appear to be a 174 knot rated tire and aluminum wheel.
Complete with hub, bearings etc.
The hub spins ok by hand, bearings are a little gristly and rough.
A sawn off spindle end is still bolted to the wheel.
All the wheel bolts and nuts are there.

Tire diameter is: 17".

The wheel has quite a bit of info on it, looks like it was made in February 1957.
Serial numbers etc. available.

Tire is a BF Goodrich Aviator.
Rated 174 knots.
Type VII.
Cut 4/32
Other info on the tire available.

Does anyone have an idea what aircraft this tire/wheel combo fits?
