Reproduction Brewster F3A Corsair BU ID plate

Sun Jan 26, 2014 5:30 pm

Available for sale are a small number of replica Brewster F3A Corsair BU ID plates. These plates have been painstakingly recreated to reflect the original BU ID plates in every way. The size, staggered font and Brewster logo were duplicated from an original plate. All of the plate graphics and text have been acid etched on aluminum as the originals and the plates carry the correct gold alodine finish. Please send an PM for more information. Thank you.

matt, I appreciate your pm & want to state I stand corrected & apologize. you may want to explain your motive in repro'ing the data plates & the others you have slated on deck in the near future to the rest of the wix gang!! I certainly misunderstood!!

If you ever get around to making acid-etched NAA Inglewood dataplates, count me in for a few!

There'd be a decent market for them, including all the trainers from the BT-9 to the early AT-6's and Harvard Mk II's (later ones were built in Dallas..hence the 'Texan') as well as Mustangs (P-51A, B, some D's and H) and Mitchells (B-25, A, B, C, G & H)

The silk-screened examples currently available through Lance Aircraft, etc, don't look right to me...the font is too 'modern'
