Can anybody assist in an ID for these struts? Cub?

I got a set of LG struts in a bunch of parts yesterday.
Any idea what these are for? The steps on the forward leg is confusing me.

Yep they look like piper cub to me and someone welded a step on it. Nice if you have a wing tank
