I have a Sperry Directional Gyro, AF-45 S/N 2960, and wonder if there is a way to find out what aircraft this instrument might have come from? Also, is there any way to tell when the instrument was manufactured? Thanks

what is the part number. The AF 45 in the serial number usually indicates the year manuf. If it a AN 5735 series it was used in all Army and some Navy aircraft. That is the fighters and bombers.. Most laison aircraft were not gyro equiped. |
