I have a spade grip marked AH2040 that's lost most of it covering. Does anyone now where I can have it recovered like the original or where I can get the material to do the recovering?

Send it to me, and you will never recover it again.  From reading some of the British Aviation magazines in the past, I recall at least one or two groups in GB doing high quality Spitfire and Hurricane restoration work. Maybe they could help you?
