Could they be a Douglas Skyraider's tailwheel tire?

Saludos,

I have a bumper wheel that is 8 x 3 1/2 by United State Rubber Co., Detroit, Mi. with a reference to a D.A.C. Erection and Maintenance manual. The wheel is painted white. Also trying to identify what aircraft this went one. There seems to be quite a few of these wheels around.

I did find one installed on a F5D Sky Lancer at the Armstrong museum in Wapakoneta. This bumper must have been used elswhere as their wasn't enough F5D aircraft to justify the number of 3 1/2 x 8 bumper wheels distributed around surplus yards I've been to.

No Skyraiders around here to look at Tulio, could be though. The mfg. on the 3 1/2 x 7 is Grizzly. Any more guesses?

I'm afraid, not, Ober.

When I first read your post, I had an immediate image of a Skyraider's tailwheel, and then I did a google image search, to confirm my
hunch.

Other than that, I could not tell you anything about manufacturer's or specific brand names.

Good luck with your search.

Saludos,

Tulio
