Post subject:  FS 1944 Ford GTB Bomb Truck project and accessories

Photos linked below. 1944 Ford GTB bomb truck, titled, turns and ran recently but I haven't tried to run it. Included is a Saginaw Bomb Trailer, serial number 3, a Weaver Bomb Lift M-1, a USN Mark IV bomb cart, an original heavy case 500 LB casing, an original light-case 500 LB casing, and a USN Mark VI bomb hoist. Also included is a set of white cotton parachute webbing bomb slings for 100lb to 2000lb bombs. Pictures located below.

The GTB is missing the small winch, chain fall, rear sheave for the trolley cable, and passenger seat in the photos but these are included in this sale. There is no gas tank. The serial number plate is gone, but the title is for this truck. The truck was stationed at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in WWII. The Saginaw bomb trailer is missing the rear pintle hook, but rolls okay on some old really crappy tires. I will offer the 8.25 X 18.00 wheels that are on it, or the 7.50 X 20.00 wheels that come with it, but you have to pick one set as I am keeping the other. If you use the 5 lug 7.50 X 20.00 wheels, you will have same tires all around without the problems finding the 18 inch tires. The Weaver Bomb Lift is the USN version with steel wheels and hard tires. The USN Bomb cart is apart but complete; the front forging for the swiveling axle needs to be turned on a lathe to be re-fitted. One casing is full of inert material- the other is hollow. The bomb slings are used but in near-new condition.

You would have to hunt for a long time, like I have for 6 years, to find all the equipment that goes with a USN WWII Bomb Truck, but here it is all in one shot. I will not separate this collection, as I want somebody to keep it together. It would make a very nice display next to a WWII USN aircraft, or even a WWII USAAF aircraft. Loading assistance is available at my location- I have a backhoe to load small items and can push onto ramp-equipped trailers. If you have a single flat-bed trailer that needs a ramp, I can have a rollback here to load your truck. Price is $12,000 firm as you see it here. I have listed the M-1 bomb lift separate from this grouping, and if it sells before this grouping sells, price is $10000. This collection is located Baltimore, Maryland.
