Yesterday January 4th, a group of mapuhe aborigines started a number of fire spots on forests near the town known as TirĂșa, in southern Chile. As a result, two helicopters were sent for fire-fighting duties but at the moment these returned to refill their water tanks were attacked by the same 'people', damaging the aircraft plus a Cessna Skymaster that was used as a bird dog plane; a pilot got serious injuries on his head after being attacked with stones but fortunately he is recovering on a hospital.
This coward attack happened as a response from mapuche aborigines that saw one of his members being killed by Chilean Police on Wednesday while attacking a landowner of Southern Chile. The person has been attacked for almost 20 times the last decade, and its property was protected by policeman who defended the land from a new fire attack from people who consider themselves as the legitime owners of these lands. Curiously, the 'land recoveries' from mapuche entities only covers already worked agricultural or forestry lands, and not pure and virgin forests. It's a real shame what's happening in my country, and that is the real Chile, not the one that appears as 'the winning country of South America'. Delinquents, drug smugglers and now the 'homeless mapuche' are becoming the rulers of Chile.
