The other day I found my CFS2 game for the pc and decided to upload it again and start flying. Does anyone else here fly flight sims?

Elroy,
I used to, and plan on it again, fly the online WWII sim Aces High II. Very cool sim but take a lot of computer power to run. The company takes many pains to try and model the flight characteristics of the aircraft very accurately.
Only problem is it is being overrun by kids which makes that radio chatter unbearable.
Regards,
Mark...the online flight sim bullet magnet.

Ive played Aces sim at the Mall of America in Minnesota and had a blast. My Father was my wingman and we were against a younger father and son team.
Ive also been eye balling the MS Flight Sim XP that has all sorts of stuff on it. More than likely I will just download the sample version online. Here lately Ive been adding alot of downloadable aircraft and skins back onto CFS2...Now I just need to upgrade to a really good sound system!

I pretty much just screw around on FS2004. I'd love to get FSX but I know it would kill my computer. Maybe once I get a new one. I love adding planes from flightsim.com

Yeah I used to be a virtual fighter squadron geek...54th! http://www.fiftyfourth.com/
I'm still on the roster...

Had a great time with CFS2 and got pretty good, until IL-2 became the goto sim...I could never really get the hang of it with my limited sim time...

I fly FSX for grins ...I have an old computer with as much ram and video card as I can get and FSX works pretty well...there are a lot of tweaks you can do to make it flyable...all the eye candy is not there but the airplanes are fun.

Does anyone play CFS03?

I have FS4, CFS1, 2, and 3, IL-2 and most of the expansion packs, and a bunch of others. On my 2002-vintage hardware, CFS2 runs more smoothly than the newer ones.

IMO all of the major recent combat sims direct too many computer resources to eye candy that is fine for stooging around and admiring your plane and the scenery the way you do in FS, but that you don't notice in the heat of combat. I would prefer that more resources be directed to upping the frame rate when a lot of planes are in the sky.

In that connection good old European Air War and the many add-on theatres, missions, and aircraft is still what I crank up when I want to go shoot some baddies. Graphics are perfectly adequate, any type of plane you would want is out there somewhere, and you can have furballs of 50 aircraft or more with no stuttering. The flight models are more forgiving also, which is fine because "realistic" flight models are not really realistic when you only play the came a couple of times per month. I feel that for occasional players, easier flight models are appropriate to compensate for our lack of proficiency. When I want the realistic feel, I load a Mustang into FS or CFS and just do circuits and bumps.

I play CFS3. I really enjoy it. I just bought a new computer specifically to run FSX properly. I am very impressed so far.

Ok, I ditched CFS2 for now. I bought FSX and it runs pretty well. However I bought the expansion pack but I need a better video card for it to work.
I really enjoy FSX and was surprised how how detailed it is with radio chatter, virtual cockpits...etc. In FSX you can fly a stunt routine at the Oshkosh airshow or fly a new Airbus in the Paris airshow!
So the other day I went down to one of the larger electronic stores to look at yokes and throttle quadrants...WOW talk about pricey!!! Does anyone use or see a cheaper website for pc aircraft stuff?
