:bs: :bs: :finga:  :butthead: in northern ohio $2.65 regular unleaded a gallon, $2.79 plus grade, a gallon, premium grade $2.89 a gallon!! my 2005 honda civic costs 25 bucks to fill, my 2003 vw passat takes premium gas only, 48 bucks to fill!!! i might as well buy an suv!! i can only imagine what aviation gas is!!! marine gas is on average 30 to 40 percent higher than regular unleaded at the normal gas station. it has killed boating season on lake erie, where i make my living. i swear these prices are an al quaida conspiracy / strategy to destroy our economy. oil runs the country, moves our goods, etc. anything made of plastic is petroleum based. figure it out, were being destroyed through our wallets!!! every presidential administration going back to nixon should be kicked in the ass by the taxpayers for not researching alternate / more economic & safer for the ecology sources of energy. now all of a sudden hi breed cars?? a day late & a dollar short for me!!! the arab oil barons have our country, & the world by the gonads, & there isn't a thing we can do about it!!! we need to tap into our 3 year strategic supply & drive the prices down, & get off our lazy keesters & get cracking toot sweet on new research. saudi arabia & kuwait are our allies?? don't insult my intelligence!!! i shall now step off my soap box!! regards tom

I paid $2.45 for regular last night here in MN. I can't really complain though, I saw a BBC article on how are friends across the pond are paying over 90p per liter, which works out to about $6.20/gallon!

But they also have a Public Trans system. It’s very hard to get out of the inner city if you don't have a car. Or in my case it’s a long walk to get a loaf of bread or milk.

I’m about to start using my lawn mower gas in my car. I bought that for about $0.25 cheaper per gallon then that price is now.

Lucky me, this morning it was $1.13 a litre in Vancouver which is the highest in Canada. Using my rudimentary math skills, it works out to about $4.28 Cdn a gallon. Canada is the 7th highest producer of oil and has the 2nd largest reserves. You'd think we'd get a bit of a break, anyone know what they're paying in Saudi Arabia? My guess is less than $1.13 a litre.

As for US oil imports go, here's some info your biggest supplier. You're not getting a break from us either! :x

"Canada sends over 99% of its crude oil exports to the U.S., and the country is one of the most important sources of U.S. oil imports. During the first eleven months of 2004, Canada exported 1.62 million bbl/d of crude oil to the U.S., the single-largest component of U.S. crude oil imports. Canada also sent some 500,000 bbl/d of petroleum products to the U.S. during this period, the most from a single country."

$2.66 a gallon was the highest I paid while going from Texas to Indiana.

I have not filled my tank yet, but I believe it will be around $2.79 a gallon. . .

Since the prices are driven by profit, we should try -read, try- not to use our cars, or buy a single gallon of gasoline for one day a week, nationwide, and see the impact that this has on the coffers of the oil barons . . . : )

Saludos,

Tulio

The oil barons can withstand the temporary losses, the local filling station with the minimum wage employees may not be able to. How are the oil barons losing anyhow if you don't buy gas on Wednesdays- especially if you just postpone your purchase until Thursday?

Supply and demand?

If they don't sell millions of gallons of gasoline one day a week,
when everyone either don't buy or carpool, then the income for that
particular day is Zero.

The station attendands will be there the next day, because the stations
won't close.

Even if no one does it in a concerted manner, eventually people will-if
they are not already doing it- drive less, and thus buy less gasoline, until
the prices come down. I am sure they won't come down a lot, but there
has to be a way to control the greed of these oil merchants.

Just my opinion.

Tulio
